Sticks and stones may break my bones

You know that thing. That thing when you have a blog, and you're cookin' with gas, postin' regular, cruisin' along the interhighway of love.

Then

something

happens.

Probably, not even a big thing. Just, you know, life. Or maybe setting up a modern quilt guild, or buying a house. Or looking after people who have been poorly.

And then, there's this big gap, and you know that you want to write more blog posts, and you have lots of cool stuff to talk about... but there is the elephant in the room. Your unexplained absence of two months. Or two years. You feel you must offer an explanation for your absence. And the explanation somehow becomes insurmountable, because how much do you say? Too much or too little? And so.

You

just

ignore it.

And the absence becomes longer.

So, fair friends, this is my ice breaker. No explanation, really. Just the stuff, hinted at above.

And now, some cool "sticks and stones" blocks that I made for the Love circle of do. Good Stitches. We didn't get a step-by-step tutorial and somehow, my brain could not process the concept. But it did, eventually, when I got the fabric out on the table and started cutting. I made the blocks WAY bigger than the 8.5 inches I was asked for, but then I trimmed them down, so it's alright in the end.

Oh, and a beautiful late afternoon skyscape of palms and clouds for you. Because yes, I am still in Florida.
