Maneki Neko tattoo
Mister Steve Byrne gave me a new tattoo this weekend. You can see him there in the background. It's a Maneki Neko, literally "beckoning cat" but more commonly called the "lucky cat", a common Japanese sculpture, often found in stores or other commercial establishments. Generally it's believed the right paw raised brings money and the left hand raised brings customers, or people. I have loved these cats for years, and when my cat Pearl died I decided to get a tattoo of a Maneki Neko with a pearl necklace to remember her by. Photo by Julie.
